The memoir of Lawrencia “Bambi” Bembenek, a former Milwaukee police officer convicted in 1982 of the murder of her husband’s ex-wife. She always maintained her innocence, and her escape from prison in 1990 and flight to Canada made her case famous on both sides of the border.

Marq wrote the book with her as a ghost writer. His own website listed it among his ghost-written books, describing her as wrongly convicted.
