Six Days That Shook the World
The Third Russian Revolution
A short pamphlet of about 10,000 words on the failed coup against Mikhail Gorbachev in August 1991, the days that led to the end of the Soviet Union.
It was written as an update to the last chapter of Down the Volga in a Time of Troubles, which had followed Russia through the final years of Soviet rule. Marq’s own website called it The Third Russian Revolution and dated it 1992; the library records give Six Days That Shook the World, 1991.
